Ok well yeah wheels are off the bus, im walking around the side of the road shaking my head and muttering to myself.. " OK Carl, what the hell just happened there? " Yeah the wreck is in full focus. What to do, what to do ?
Sometimes , and i know this from experience, you can be become so distracted that you actually forget what the hell was motivating you from the beginning. Well thats what happened to me. I forgot whta I was doing this all for, and what was at stake. Let me list out whats at stake, for both of our good.
1) My Health, im getting older and I need to be in about 100% better shape than I am right now.
2) My family, I can no better take care of them, without myself being in good health.
3) My Pride, or the #1 thing that moves me with conviction. No One, and I mean NO ONE, can ever tell me I can't do something. Oh how I have forgotten this one.
My career has been turned on it's ear lately, and I have sunken behind this speed bump instead of using it to my advantage. Time for the dust off. I will tell you my friends and family, from here on out I am fixing the wrongs, and doing up my training right. I rarely put weight goals in my training, but I need one here just to give myself a immeadiate goal.... 20 Pounds, in 40 days.
Don't think I can do it ? Watch.

His Holiness, and Plans.
Well yesterday Me and the Mrs went with 2 of our good friends to see the Dalai Lama at Gillette Stadium. Must say I was very impressed. I am the farthest thing from a religious person but this guy talked alot of sense, and was just very cool. 2 Thumbs up! If you cut me off driving i may still curse you , but ultimatly i will be sympathetic towards your stupidity. LOL
Ok so back to my running. Well Today I did about 30 Minutes of Wii fit ( Finally unlocked Boxing which is a lot fo fun ) and I think I will power up the Ipod and head over to the gym this afternoon. For anyone in the area who goes to The Wymouth Club... NEVER go there during the week from 4 to 6pm. Absolute madness ! It's really a great club, has everything you would want. And it always makes me want to take tennis lessons just because of their incredible tennis area.
I need to get a digital scale sometime also. I know some people dont like weighing themselves everyday, but I do. Keeps me honest, and makes me realize where I am each day. Ok off to clean the mancave a bit, and then to the Gym. See you all soon !

The Great Dean
Well today I picked up the DVD, Ultramarathon Man / 50 Marathons / 50 States / 50 Days. It is a documentary type of movie about the incredible feat Dean Karnazes achieved last year. If you don't know Dean google him, or youtube him just to see what this guy is about. he is simply AMAZING ! He makes me want to run , far. Maybe tomorrow I will give you a full review of the film. He also has a book called Ultramarathon Man. Again a great book that will leave you feeling you just don't do enough in your life to prove to yourself that your alive.
Todays eating? Did very good. Multigrain Bagel for breakfast, brown rice sushi for lunch , and looks like an egg salad sandwich for dinner.
Activity ? Well I mowed the whole lawn today after work, thats probably a couple miles right there. lol. Gonna hit some wii fit tonight also. Tomorrow is 30 minutes on my old friend the treadmill.
Until then, keep on keeping on !

The Last Pizza!
Well it's a strange way to start a blog, but yes I just finished my last pizza before embarking on my big focused training in my running. Lets recap shall we.... I need to lose about 50 pounds. I am running the Disney Half Marathon in 2010, The Disneyland Half Marathon in 2010, and then god willing the NYC Marathon in Late 2010. That is one tall order. But I am taking this seriously, and I am doing everything I possibly can to be in physical and mental shape for this very challenging year to come.
Now how do I feel with this tall order looming over me ? Scared. Worried. In all honesty I feel pretty confidant about the 2 Half Marathons. Its the NYC Marathon that worries me. I think if I was planning on the NYC marathon in 2011, it might be very feasible. But I really want to have an epic 40th birthday year. I want to accomplish a great many things.
So here is to the start of it all. Tomorrow I will begin a 5 day a week visit to the gym. Mostly cardio on the treadmill for probably the first 6 weeks, and then I will begin to add in some weight training. Tomorrow also begins the hardest part of the whole change. Eating ! Yeah time to embrace veggies, low fat, multi grain, less calories, and more energy. So to all my friends, bare with me. I am usually a tad poopy when I begin this journey, but I got my eye on the prize, and I will have my epic year. Oh yes .... I will.
